Since then Suomen Malmi has developed to a multi-skilled geological prospecting company serving mining industry, exploration and rock construction. Suomen Malmi was privatized in 1991 to the operating management. Swedish Drillcon AB acquired the company in 2007.
Suomen Malmi Oy celebrated its 75th anniversary by organizing a topical seminar for clients and stakeholders in Dipoli, Espoo the 20th of October 2010. Seminar featured presentations from Mr. Pertti Voutilainen on “The Lessons of the Past”, Director General of Geological Survey of Finland Mr. Elias Ekdahl on “Outlook for the Global and Finnish Mining Industry”, and Executive Vice President of Posiva Oy Mr. Timo Äikäs on “Posiva Oy as Pioneer in Nuclear Waste Management”.
