Exports to 37 countries
About one fourth of the turnover of Smoy is generated by exports. In addition, a sizeable part of the work is performed for foreign customers in Finland. The export activities started from Greenland where the company landed a considerable drilling commission in 1963. Exports became a regular part of our activities in the early 1980s. Smoy has hundreds of export references from 37 countries on six continents. Drillings and surveys for natural resource and construction research have been performed in the Nordic subarctic regions, in deserts, savannas, jungles, tundra and glaciers. At present Smoy has a more permanent establishment in Sweden. Drillings has been done during the last years also in Norway, Germany and Russia and geophysics in Spain and in Guinea, western Africa.
